"Strategic Governance in Serbia "

The main objective of two studies that were done within the «Strategic Governance in Serbia» project was to provide an overview of the two important elements of strategic management – policy coordination and  utilization of expert advices in policy making process.

                    The first study – «Policy Coordination in Serbia» provides overview of legal framework for policy coordination, as well as, description of major institutions involved in policy coordination (the government and government committees, offices of the prime minister and deputy prime minister, General Secretariat of the government). It also provides example of policy coordination in practice – in the case of trade policy formulation and implementation in the pas several years.

The second study – «Strategic Policy Advice in Serbia» provides overview of the capacity of the Serbian public administration to base its decisions on expert and external advice. It also provides overview of several institutions involved in the provision of strategic policy advice. Beside internal actors, the study analyses contribution of several international actors which have provided advice to the government and contribution of local think tanks
