 Summary:

CLDS together with Greece based KOPES (Centre for Economic research and Competition Strategy) has started working on the EBRD project “Capacity building for the Serbian Commission for protection of Competition (CPC)”

The 26 months project started on 15th Jul 2018. It has five components:

  • Purchase of STATA econometrics software and associated training
  • Producing relevant guidelines in support of the operations of the CPC:
    • Horizontal merger assessment guidelines
    • Self-assessment of restricted practices guidelines
  • Preparation of a glossary for standardisation of competition law terminology
  • Organization of short study visits to other competition authorities
  • Training programme on issues relating to the interface of sectoral regulation and competition law
The project team includes leading scholars in the area of competition law, economics of regulation, and econometrics from the United States, the United Kingdom, Greece and Serbia. The team leader is KOPES’ Yannis Katsoulacos and the deputy team leader is CLDS’ Boris Begović.
